Non-fiction Novels

Students chose their non-fiction novels today and signed up for their text.  They also received a brief and informal introduction to the non-fiction genre.  Students are in the process of reading the transcript of an interview with Truman Capote on the writing of In Cold Blood. The purpose of reading this primary source is to start to define the genre and gain a better understand the differences and similarities between fiction and non-fiction novels.  Students will be exploring documentary film while they read the first part of their novels.  Timelines for non-fiction texts will be given tomorrow in class.
